NeighborWorks Green Bay is a HUD approved agency that provides guidance and support to current homeowners who are interested in obtaining a Reverse Mortgage, previously known as a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM).
Currently, NeighborWorks Green Bay does not provide reverse mortgages, only the required counseling.
Potential borrowers must apply for a reverse mortgage loan through a lender who specializes in them. As part of the application process, you will be required to receive reverse mortgage counseling from a certified counselor. The housing counseling staff from NeighborWorks Green Bay can provide this service, which will help potential borrowers determine if a reverse mortgage loan is right for you. The goal is to help you understand your obligations if you apply for and receive a reverse mortgage loan.
This counseling session is valid for 6 months.

STEP 2: Counseling
Meet with a NeighborWorks Green Bay counselor for an up to 90-minute appointment where we’ll work together towards the best solution for you.
STEP 3:Decision
Obtain a reverse mortgage and pay a fee of $175 or decline to move forward with a reverse mortgage and pay no fee.
