After completing homebuyer education with NeighborWorks Green Bay you will meet one-on-one with a HUD-Certified housing counselor for a pre-purchase counseling appointment.
Keep in mind that it may be a few weeks before you are able to schedule this counseling appointment.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR APPOINTMENT
- You will meet either in-person or virtually through Zoom for this appointment.
- The appointment will last up to 90-minutes.
- You and your counselor will discuss topics such as:
- Your housing goals.
- Your household income and expenses.
- How much you can afford to spend on a mortgage payment.
- Your credit report and monthly debts.
- Saving for a home.
- Applying for pre-approval with a mortgage lender.
- Finding a real estate agent.
- Down payment assistance eligibility.
- Connecting you with other community resources.
- Getting a home inspection.
- Create an action plan with goals and next steps for your homeownership journey.
