NeighborWorks® Green Bay was incorporated on January 22, 1982 as Neighborhood Housing Services of Green Bay, Inc. (NHS). From 1982-1987, programs included a tool lending program, loans for home improvement work, and a facade improvement project. Nineteen eighty-seven was the year of our first rehabilitation project. The "Centennial House" was completed and sold to new homeowners.

During the 90's, NHS grew substantially. Our first rental unit was purchased and the "How to Buy a Home" Seminar served 319 people in 1994!

The beginning of the 21st Century brought more exciting developments to NHS. The Urban Partnership Community Development Corporation was created for NHS' larger scale development projects. The City of Green Bay recognized NHS with a Mayor's Beautification Award for the rehab projects in the 800 block of Crooks Street.

For our 25th anniversary, we changed our business name to NeighborWorks® Green Bay and celebrated the opening of our new office space and building at 437 S. Jackson Street.
